About Neal Veglio and Podknows

What is Podknows Podcasting about?

Are you obsessed about your brand?

Do you want people who encounter it to get a solid impression?

Would you like to feel confident that any time you share your content, it’s leaving the impression that you’re a serious proposition, and that you want to get it right?

If you’ve answered these questions with a “yes”, then you need to talk with Neal at Podknows Podcasting.

Podknows isn’t a podcasting agency.

Podknows is your friend in audio.

Your loudest branding and marketing cheerleader.

Podknows is here to make you sound good through podcasting, or any other type of branding that uses audio at its central core.

The beginning

It started with listening to Kenny Everett.

Those soundscapes.

The silly noises and voices.

Hero worship

Everything cuddly Ken was creating on his Capital Radio show triggered the imagination of a young eight year old Neal Veglio, Podknows’ founder.

What started out with just one silly radio disc jockey’s zany radio show turned into an obsession with all things radio and audio.

Listening to the American radio shows pouring in over the AM waveband late at night was a must.

Under the covers.

In the midst of darkness.

And then there was the music creation.

Music production

Neal began using home computers with samplers to pick bits of old vinyl records and put them in to the computer to then change and manipulate them.

This led to a love of the keyboard synthesizer, and creating dance music records.

Aside from one music magazine featuring a Veglio composed track on its cover CD, the music career wasn’t to be.

Aside from a limited number of ghost compositions through freelance gigs, the number one hit failed to materialise.

Radio

The radio career?

Another story.

The first radio show came at a tiny AM rock station in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Roll forward in time and we’ll be making stops at a small dance and indie station in Oxford, a pioneering digital pop station in London, and a national sports station in London.

It was at the pop station in London, working with former Radio 1 Top 40 DJ Bruno Brookes, that Neal first experimented with uploading audio to websites.

In 2001, Neal’s fascination with what would later become known as podcasting, began.

Podcasting

Podknows Podcasting is the brainchild of former national radio personality Neal Veglio (JACK fm, Capital Radio, talkSPORT).

When the radio industry went fully corporate and started turning its back on small businesses and communities, Neal recognised a gap in the market for creating platforms for those communities.

During the early part of his radio career, helping out in radio station newsrooms in the mid 90s, Neal discovered a talent for using documentaries to help ordinary people tell compelling stories.

Combined with a stellar 25 year career hosting morning shows, chatting with celebrities and taking callers to air, he quickly developed an awareness for the kind of content these people wanted to hear.

Now, Podknows has a clear ‘why’:

Helping brands and individuals talk to their customers and advocates, using podcasting to share compelling and relatable audio content
